Laswell

Just a little bit of info that I found out today that I thought one or more of you might find interesting. I was listening to the new Matisyahu cd, Youth, at work today (came out Tuesday if anyone cares), and decided to do a little browsing through the booklet. Turns out that the producer and mixer on all but 3 tracks is Bill Laswell! If you don't recognize the name, refer back to the Praxis section of my last post. A dude who worked heavily with the likes of Bootsy, Buckethead, and Bernie Worrell is now mixing for a Chasidic reggae artist. Good stuff. If anyone is curious of what I think about the new cd, here goes (bear in mind that I only heard about half of it, and was working while I listened): Pretty good. Not as totally solid as I felt Live at Stubbs was, but still worth giving a listen. It doesn't seem to showcase his talent quite as well, but the beats and the lyrics are solid. Check it out.
